- We will tie-break using FIDE recommended Swiss tie-breaker Buchholz Cut 1
- There will be up to 3 extra layers of tie-breakers, only then will we resort to splitting prize money
Rules
- Touch-move rule
- Clocks will be started at the scheduled times, whether or not opponent has arrived
- Cell phones must be off/ringer set to silent
- Penalty for an infraction is 2 minutes added to opponent’s clock, at arbiter’s discretion
- Please use common sense and good sportsmanship to settle any discrepancies before calling for an arbiter
- In the event an arbiter is needed, stop clock before calling for one
- Up to 3 half-point byes can be requested for Rounds 1-6. Please let the TD know as soon as possible if a round cannot be played

Registration
- Entry fee is $10, payable via cash at the club or e-transfer to HARDIK.HO@gmail.com on or before February 23, 2023
- If you choose to e-transfer, please include the player name(s) and event in the message
- Late entry will be accepted until 10 minutes before the start of Round 6. A late fee of $5 must be paid on top of the registration fee
- Please arrive early for scheduled rounds, club doors open at 5:30 pm
- And please bring your own chess set and clock!
