This past weekend three London Chess Club players represented our club well with an impressive showing, only losing two of their 15 games combined at the Golden Horseshoe Tournament in Mississauga with over 180 players in attendance.
In the Under 1000 division Izayah Dalrymple finished with a perfect 5 and 0 score to claim first place and the $250 prize in a field of 22 players. Close behind and finishing in third was Londoner Eric Li with 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss.
In the Under 2000 division Justin Hack had a respectable one win, 3 draws, and a single loss tying for 8th place in a competitive division of 19 players. His win came against the Executive Director of the Chess Federation Of Canada Robert Gillanders and a draw against the provincial 12 and under champ Youhe Huang.
It was an exciting two day event with two Grandmasters and one International Master in attendance.
