Suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011, Robert “Bob” Johnston of London at the age of 69. Cherished husband of Rhea (Armstrong) Johnston. Loving father of Chris (Maggie) and Jeff; step-father of Alex (Lisa), Andrew (Lise), Elizabeth (Kent) and Christine (Alex). Dear brother of David (Dora) Johnston. Loving grandfather of four grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, December 12th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in memory of Bob, to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
Bob has been a long time member of the London Chess Club. He played a lot of internet chess and would often bring in a position or game that he thought was exciting to share with his chess comrades. He regularly joined many club members to go to Tim Hortons after the club to look at chess and share life experiences.
We will miss you Bob
